Mini Gate For Farm Pickups FENCING Gates 13-4-4 A new 81/2-in. tall "mini" gate for pickups is short enough that you can load your pickup without opening the tailgate, says Midwest Contracting & Mfg., Wakeeney, Kan. The gate offers an unobstructed view of trailers while towing or backing up and air flow isn't blocked as with a regular pickup tailgate, resulting in 3 to 5% better fuel economy, according to the manufacturer. The "Handy Gate" is equipped with built-in pins for mounting. You drill two holes in the passenger side of the bed, just ahead of the tailgate, and one hole on the driver's side. Spring-loaded pins make it easy to mount or dismount the gate as needed.
