ATV Add-On Tracks
You can leave these new tracks on your ATV year-round, boosting cargo carrying capacity by 300 lbs. and increasing traction and towing power.
"Big Foot" tracks, manufactured by Maysflower, Inc., Missoula, Mont., have already caught on fast with Western farmers, ranchers, and the U.S. Forest Service. The heavy-duty rubber tracks, fitted with polyurethane grousers, let the machine travel through mud and snow as well as down the road on asphalt.
"Stock ATV's are limited to about 125 lbs. on the rear cargo rack and 65 on the front rack, limiting carrying capacity to a total of 190 lbs. Adding Big Foot tracks, which include a second rear axle and an additional set of wheels, boosts capacity by an additional 300 lbs. without increasing the load on the machine's original frame and suspension. It also boosts trailer-towing capability because it increases traction," says company representative Cayley McLaughlin.
Designed for 250 cc or larger ATV's, Big Foot tracks come with their own set of 6 wheels, which are slightly smaller than standard ATV wheels. No permanent modification of ATV is required. Three-ply, 15-in. wide rubber track belting wraps around the wheels. Tracks make the wheelbase longer (from 48 to 84 in.) and wider (from 40 to 52 in.), making the ma-chine more stable. They sell for $2,800 for 4-WD and $2,250 for 2-WD.
