"Farmers should encourage their chemical and equipment dealers to buy one," says Jack Jacoby of RDS America, manufacturer of the new Jet Check, a nozzle flowmeter that gives an instantaneous digital readout of flow rates from 0.02 to 1 gal. per min. within 2% accuracy range.
"You just hold the flowmeter up against each nozzle and press the button on the meter to get an instant flow reading in gal. per min. Because of possible exposure to the operator, the flowmeter should be used only with water," Jacoby cautions.
"It's much quicker and more accurate than using a jar and a stop-watch, or other such methods," says Jacoby.
The unit is battery-powered and has a hard plastic case small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. Sells for $160.
