Battery Cable Pliers
"I got the idea when I broke the post off a battery I was taking out of a tractor. I had to travel 20 miles and pay $80 to get a new battery. By the next week I had built my lust battery cable pliers," says Arlin Sweet, a New Madrid, Mo., farmer and manufacturer.
One "jaw" of the pliers is designed to slip under the battery cable. The other "jaw" presses downward on the top of the post. When you squeeze the handle it lifts the cable straight upward, preventing damage to both cable and post.
The pliers sell for $8.95 plus $2 for ship-ping and handling.
