Lifetime 4-Wheeler Built For Farm Kids
"It's built to last several generations," says Larry Miller, Belle Rive, Ill., who got tired of seeing his kids' toys break apart after a short time of use. He built a "heavy duty" wagon that can be used for play or light hauling.
It's fitted with tube tires mounted on wheels, each of which is fitted with ball bearings and a grease zerk. The axle is 3/4-in. hard steel. The front spindles are greaseable and it'll make sharp turns with its car-type steering.
The bed is 24 by 42-in. "plyform", a durable exterior plywood. The sides are made from oak and total weight is around 70 lbs. An optional adaptor for the handle turns it into a regular trailer hitch for use behind a riding mower or 3-wheeler. Sells for $148.
