Nose Job For Farm Tractors
What used to be a standard 644 International tractor, pictured on the right, sports a new "nose job" and other renovations designed to make it do twice the work by permitting simultaneous operation of front and rear mounted equipment.
The hookup is one of several new developments from J.M. Dehandt, a French farm equipment firm which specializes in equipping standard tractors for front mounted equipment and forward control.
The firm offers a front 3-pt. linkage system for IH, Deere and other standard tractors which allows toolbar and other equipment to be pushed rather than pulled. Wheels on the toolbar are linked to the tractor's steering mechanism to provide for easier steering (forward control).
Latest new development (pictured above and below) is an elongated "nose job" attachment which resembles an oversized front-end loader. Called the Concord Front Linkage, its front "nose" - which is extendable and removable and which can be equipped with pto drive - carries 3 pt. equipment. The attachment allows front mounted implements to be pulled in the normal manner, rather than pushed, allowing standard tools - including those requiring pto drive and designed for rear mounting - to be used up front without modification.
