Rust-Proof Fertilizer Spouts For Deere, Kinze Planters
"Standard steel fertilizer spouts rust out in 3 to 5 years. Our stainless steel spouts should last as long as you have the planter," says Larry Porter, of Porter Brothers, Ithaca, Mich.
The firm's stainless steel fertilizer spouts for Deere 7000 and Kinze planters fit between the fertilizer discs in place of conventional spouts. They're equipped with a special bottom tab which allows for a tight fit.
The spouts (10-in. long, 2-in. wide) have a 3/4 by 2-in. tube opening for dry fertilizer to flow through. Porter notes that the grade of stainless steel used is the same as that used in granular fertilizer spreader floors.
The spouts sell for $10 each, plus 50 cents shipping.
