Door Insert Gives Easy Access To Grain Bins
"With my æEZ access door' on your grain bins you can easily take a grain sample, or empty bins into an auger, from the side door. Once the bin is empty enough to open the inner door, you can then slide the auger into the bin. This makes my EZ access door an inexpensive alternative to an in-bin auger system laid in concrete," says the inventor, Sivert Larson, Binford, N. Dak.
Larson originally designed the door to fit the inner door of Behlen bins but he notes that it also fits the inner doors of most other bin makes and can be used on truck boxes, trailer boxes and wooden graineries.
To install, you remove the inner door, laying it flat and face-up. Then, bolt on the slide tracks and bottom stop and cut out a 17 by 24-in. rectangle. The EZ access door's 2-sectioned sliding panel fits into the tracks and covers the hole. With the inner door reinstalled, you slide the panel up to allow grain to flow out.
Larson sells the EZ access door for $39.80, plus shipping.
