25 Years Building Unique Attachments For Compact Tractors
John Bentley created Earth & Turf Attachments, LLC, which recently celebrated its 25th year in business, to develop and build specialized attachments and accessories for the specific needs of small tractors and loaders.
Earth & Turf’s attachments allow small tractors and loaders to run at maximum capacity and productivity while extending the service life of the tractor. The attachments are made in Lancaster County, Penn. Newer entries to the attachment line include clamp-on snow plows, hybrid grapples, and a clamp-on bale spear.
“We’ve led the industry with a unique clamp system,” says Bentley. “The bucket slides on top of the lower frame, and when you tighten the clamps down on the top of the bucket, it makes the bucket stronger since it sandwiches the bucket floor between the lower frame and the clamps.”
The heavy-duty snow blade has a bolt-on reversible cutting edge, giving you two cutting surfaces from one blade. The blade has a full spring trip for plowing snow and is also equipped with lock-out holes to keep the blade from tripping, allowing light grading. The blade can angle 30 degrees to the left or right.
With the clamp-on blade, the blade must be 12 in. wider than the bucket for angling purposes.
The blades come in three sizes: 60 in. ($1,757), 72 in. ($1,857), and 78 in. ($1,957) for compact tractors with a 19-in. high moldboard. Heavy-duty skid shoes are $89 per set. Larger blades are available.
The hybrid grapple was designed with the operating load capacity of sub-compact tractors in mind. It has a heavy-duty 2-in. by 8-in. hydraulic cylinder with a large jaw opening of 36 in. The floor of the grapple is approximately the same length as the bucket floor of the tractor. Because it doesn’t curve up at the end, users can get under the material they wish to pick up.
The new clamp-on bale spear has a 3,000 lb. capacity and can also pick up standard pallets.
