European Grain Cleaners Are Popular With US Farmers
In the fall of 2015, farm show Magazine published an article featuring the Polish manufacturer of the award winning WS Grain Cleaners. About 6 months later, an Ohio farm business became their North American distributor.
The WS machines are unique because they feature several diffusing elements inside the cleaning tube. This is key to achieving high quality cleaning standards and improves the cleaning results to almost twice that of most other similar machines on the market, according to the company. These machines will clean many types of crops including barley, spelt, rye, wheat, oats, corn, soybeans, rape, peas, dry beans, etc.
When using a screen machine, matching the correct screen sizes to a crop can be challenging because kernel size can vary both from different areas of the same field and from year to year. Keeping screens clean is difficult but important to maintain consistency. With no screens to clean on the WS machine, it’s hard to beat it’s consistency and efficiency. They’re very user friendly and simple to operate.
The WS machines activate centrifugal force to separate the good seed from dust, chaff, cracks and malnourished light seeds which are often infected with fungus or disease. A farmer in Canada increased the value of a 6,000 bu. crop of wheat by over $24,000 when he used this machine to remove the undesirables from his crop.
In 2019, a Ukrainian company asked for their AGS Grain Separators to be added to the lineup. These unique machines also use air to both clean and separate crop material into fractions. The AGS machines also remove large trash pieces that similar machines cannot. Splits from soybeans, peas, and lentils can be separated from the good seed which is important for planting with air seeders. Hemp farmers especially like this separator because it will sort out the most viable part of their crop.
Farmers all over the world are using these machines to remove trash and disease from their crops and to sort out the very best seed which has the highest germination rate. Both machines are constructed of quality steel and are certified to U.S. electric standards.
