Custom Aluminum Dashboards
Landon and Rebecca Balk started the company in 2015 in Clearwater, Calif. They manufacture each dashboard from 5052 aluminum sheets cut on a Mazak Fiber Laser, resulting in robust and lightweight designs made with ultra-precise cuts. The dashboards are then processed by a Timesavers sander for a smooth, brushed finish and shipped out with stainless steel and zinc mounting hardware.
One popular product is a customized aluminum dashboard for the ’94 to ’97 Dodge Ram. It’s designed to work with stock door panels or LRB Speed’s aluminum door panels. Aftermarket door panels might interfere with LRB’s dashboard design. Designed to replace stock plastic dashboards, the piece weighs approximately 18 lbs. Customers can request custom setups based on the gauges or digital dashboards they want displayed, so long as they fit within 14.5 in. by 4.75 in. Defroster vents are standardized for all dashboard configurations.
It’s shipped out unassembled and ready to be painted, powder-coated, wrapped, or left raw. The dashboard exclusively uses factory mounting locations to ensure you don’t need to perform any drilling, cutting, or other modifications to the vehicle itself during installation. Rivets are included, and all holes are precut for straightforward assembly. Expect this to take between 3 to 4 hrs., which includes the removal and disassembly of the stock dash. Once installed, the entire dashboard is sturdy and rigid without rattles. The top cap, positioned over the gauge hood, can be removed for easy access to the wiring underneath.
All LRB Speed dashboards are made to order in-house, with an average 15 business day build time. Pricing starts at around $1,250, not including shipping. Because of the customized nature of each dashboard, they’re not eligible for return. Powder-coating will add approximately 2 weeks to the standard build time.
