Loader Bucket Silage Auger
A new loader auger, hydraulically powered and designed to peel silage neatly off a stack and directly into the bucket, is one answer to simplified silage handling.
The loader from Germany is designed to mount on any tractor loader. It consists of an auger, a support frame which is spring-loaded so it can move back and forth against the silage stack, and a hydraulic motor at one end of the auger driven by the tractor hydraulics.
The auger is available in sizes ranging from 3 1/2 ft. to 5 1/2 ft. and ranges in price from $900 to $1,200, including the loader bucket. A kit will soon be available to mount the auger on any bucket.
