Eagle Rigid Span has been around since 1989 and their buidings just keep getting better. “We started putting up ‘Green’ buildings before it was recognized as being helpful to the environment. We have an innovative wood-rigid frame built with clear spans up to 120-ft. wide. That wide, clear span is what makes our buildings so unique,” says the company.
Eagle Rigid Span buildings are highly energy efficient, with the walls and ceiling framed 2 ft. on center with 2x6 or larger lumber. It is easy, fast and cost effective to insulate with fiberglass 6-in. R19 wall and 12-in. R-38 ceiling insulation. That’s why so many are used for churches, shops, gyms, office buildings, hangars etc. This system works great for all uses and makes it easier to meet new Energy Codes.
The key to Eagle Rigid Span buildings is the unique method the company developed for making laminated, trussed, box beams, with assembly in the field to allow for lower freight costs. The raised center (Cathedral Ceiling) allows more usable space with lower sidewalls and no center posts. Variable roof pitches are available from the standard 3/12 pitch. Owners have called the buildings “bird proof” because there is little or no place for birds to roost.
