“ZipStitch” Kit Replaces Stitches
This new surgical quality wound closure kit allows you to close small lacerations at home in seconds, eliminating the need for stitches. Designed for wounds up to 1 1/2 in. long, it’s said to be 8 times stronger than stitches. The technology is now used by many hospitals worldwide.
You center the ZipStitch on the wound, then press it firmly onto the skin. Pull a tab to remove a paper frame from the center of the device and pull each zip tie to close the wound. It acts as a “cage” around the wound, isolating and protecting it from movement that could pull on the wound and disrupt healing.
Multiple ZipStitches can be applied to longer wounds.
The kit also includes a gauze pad to stop bleeding, an alcohol wipe to clean the wound area, and a bandage to cover and protect the closed wound. Sells for $29.99 on the company website, with volume discounts available.
