Air-Powered Riding Mower Sprayer
“I made a pressurized sprayer for my riding mower using 2 air tanks from truck brakes and a 3-gal. sprayer,” says Ron Nahrwold, New Haven, Ind.
“The air tanks are plumbed together and hold 150 psi. I put a ball valve and inlet for the air hose on one side and a ball valve, pressure regulator and hose disconnect on the other side.
“I glued the pump shut on the sprayer and drilled a hole in the tank to install an air hose coupling connector. I run an air hose from the air tanks to the sprayer and adjust air pressure to about 20 psi. I also installed a longer hose and a new wand on the sprayer.
“Spray pressure stays constant and lasts for hours. No more annoying hand pumping. Works great.”
