Sure Mark Weights Down Planter Marker
Adding the new "Sure Mark" to your planter marker makes it easy to see the marking furrow when planting in minimum-till, no-till and similar "trashy" ground.
SI Mfg., Spencerville, Ohio, manufactures the 12¢-1b., 6¢-in. dia. cast iron add-on weight. It bolts to the marker disc using three bolts which replace three of the rivets that hold the disc to the marker arm. In extra-hard soil, a second weight can be added. In soft soil, the weight acts as a depth band to prevent the marker from burying itself.
Another advantage of mounting weights directly on the marker disc is that they don't stress disc bearings like weights added to marker arms.
Sure Marks sell for $19.95 each and fit most planter markers.
