Shivvers Country Clipper Lawn Mower
Shivvers Manufacturing, Corydon, Iowa, got into the lawn mower business earlier this year due to the faltering market for grain dryers. The company's new zero-turn "Country Clipper" is already handled by more than 350 dealers nationwide.
The Country Clipper is available in 11 models from 11 hp. to 128 hp. with decks that range in width from 42 in. to 60 in. Power is transferred from the engine directly to hydrostat-powered wheels with no sprockets or chains.
Tires are set close to the mower deck to allow smooth cutting in the roughest conditions.
"The low wide body of the Country Clipper makes it extremely stable on slopes. The compact design allows trimming close around and between buildings and obstacles," says sales manager Roy Truax.
The mower deck is made of heavy-gauge steel reinforced with 3/8-in. steel bar frame. All decks have three blades with a minimum 1¢ in. overlap to cut smoother and eliminate windrowing.
Prices range from $3,495 for the 11 hp. model to $5,995 for the 18-hp. model with a 60-in. deck.
