Mini Hay Balers Automatically Tie Bales
They are the best machines on the market for making mini-bales and are distributed in the U.S. and Canada. Of the two balers offered, the pull-type baler makes 8 by 11-in. bales with variable lengths of 16 to 24-in., made from completely reconditioned New Holland conventional square balers with a modified bale chamber. The pto-driven machine produces 12 to 15 bales a minute with genuine New Holland automatic tie knotters.
The Stationary mini-baler makes a 4-1/2 by 6-in. bale varying in length from 8 to 10 in. This unit can be powered by pto, 13-hp Honda engine, 7-1/2 hp electric, or self-contained hydraulic system. “This is the only machine that ties bales this small automatically,” says the inventor. Each unit is custom-built, dependable, and mechanically tested before it leaves the manufacturer.
Crafters, pet stores and farm markets sell the bales for as high as $9 each. Grass, clover and straw are baled. Barley straw mini-bales are great for algae control in ponds and 8 by 11-in. bales are great for “young hands” on horse or experience farms since they are lighter and easier to use than the traditional small square bales.
A bale of Bridon 9600 or New Holland 7200 twine will produce 1,500 to 2,000 4 by 6 by 10-in. mini-bales, baling 300 to 480 bales per hour. The same bale of twine will produce 700 to 1,150 8 by 11 by 17-in. mini-bales, baling 700 to 900 bales per hour.
