He Raises Garlic With Thick Plastic Sheets
I raise garlic by laying out thick plastic sheets, which were actually used originally to grow strawberries in vertical columns. The berries grew out of the holes in the side of the column.
I just spread the plastic out flat on the ground and then plant a single garlic clove into each hole.
If you can't find this kind of plastic, black plastic will work just fine. It's a great way to cut down on weeds. (Jack Nachamkin, Glen Mills, Penn.)
