Dog Fence Is Truly "Invisible"
"It's the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever," according to the manufacturer of this new-style electronic collar that keeps dogs inside the yard without using buried wires to do so.
The PetSafe "Insta Fence" system consists of a radio transmitter with a receiver collar with two 3-volt lithium batteries, and boundary flags for training purposes.
You simply plug the transmitter into any standard 110-volt outlet inside your home. It emits a radio signal over an area up to 90 ft. in dia. (area is set by a dial on the transmitter). Your pet's collar is tuned into the signal, leaving your dog free to run and play. When he approaches the boundary area, he receives a warning beep. If he does not back off, he receives a light static shock that's startling but not harmful.
Training typically takes a little over 30 days, the company says.
Instant Fence sells for right at $300 plus $19 S&H. It includes a training video and manual. Extra receiver sells for $85.
