Thermostatically-Controlled Vent Thaw Device BUILDINGS Accessories 21-6-37 You can keep your sewer vent ice-free all winter for pennies with this new-style thermostatically-controlled vent thaw device, says KVC Company, the manufacturer.
It consists of a canister containing a thermostatic-controlled heat cable and deflector element that fits over the top of the sewer vent. It's fitted with a control box containing a solid state thermostat with a light mounted on the side to indicate when the unit's operating. The unit wires to any 110-volt power source and automatically comes on when the temperature drops below 30 degrees F and shuts off when it gets above freezing.
Easy to install, it draws only 0.4 amp when on so operation won't break the bank.
Different models available to match out-side dia. of metal or plastic sewer pipe. Lighted switch for inside house is optional.
Sells for $149.50 plus S&H.
