Remote Control Lawn Mower
Here's a new "driverless" mower controlled by a hand-held radio that's so easy to use anyone can mow the lawn regardless of physical condition.
Introduced last year by Goldoni, an Italian manufacturer, the remote-controlled mower is powered by a 41/2-hp. Kawasaki engine and runs at speeds up to 1.5 mph. Cutting width is 19 in. You can control it from up to 160 ft. away with a hand-held control that stops and starts the engine and shifts gears in addition to steering. The mower turns in a 60-in. radius. The rear wheel drive handles slopes up to 50? in both drive and reverse. A floating axle compensates for uneven terrain and a solid front bumper protects from heavy bumps. A rear bagger is available.
Sells for about $3,000.
