Stainless Steel Nuts, Bolts
If you're tired of continually having to replace rusted out nuts and bolts, maybe you should switch to corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
"Many farmers don't know they're available," says David Unverfehrt, owner of ABC Bolt & Tool Co., a leading supplier of stainless steel carriage and machine bolts (304ss) in all sizes up to 6 in. long and 5/8 in. dia. Larger sizes available on special order. The company also offers stainless steel lag screws, cable washers, concrete "Wej-it" anchors, mounting brackets for nipple waters, stainless steel pipe, and Grade 5 and 8 zinc dichromate plated bolts (fine and coarse thread).
Cost of stainless steel generally runs about double the cost of regular steel nuts, bolts and other materials, says Unverfehrt. "We'll ship whatever size order a customer needs ù anything from a bolt or two on up to complete sets representing all sizes."
