Go-Anywhere Mower Cleans Around Fences, Machinery
Rocks, steel posts, machinery or trees don't bother the "Texas Tornado," a new go-anywhere mower equipped with rubber blades that bounce harmlessly off solid objects.
"It's great for mowing fencelines and will even disperse sand and dirt piled up in the fencerow," says inventor-manufacturer Merle Heiskell, Dalhart, Tex.
The 3-pt. hitch mower's rubber blades, made from combine bats, are 30 in. long, 2 in. wide and 3/4-in. thick. An hydraulic orbit motor turns the adjustable-speed blades at up to 670 rpm's. The mower has a 6 ft. reach and is adjustable to cut 45? above or below horizontal.
Sells for $1,595, plus $200 for an optional wire-winding attachment.
