Trash Compactor Waste Basket
First-of-its-kind trash compacting waste basket has a compactor built right into its hinge-up lid.
"It'll hold 3 to 4 times the normal volume of trash. You use less bags and save time by emptying less often," says the manufacturer, Compac, Inc.
The waste basket, which was invented in France and has won invention awards all over the world, measures 12 1/2 in. long, 9 in. wide and 191/2 in. high. The compacting plate and handle are built into the lid so that it's flush when closed. To mash trash, you slide the handle out horizontally from the top, lift the handle up into the vertical position, and push down.
It's built out of heavy-duty plastic in a variety of colors. Sells for $40.
