Portable Poly Huts For Hogs, Calves
These portable "poly huts" for hogs or calves come in sections that bolt together to what-ever size you need. They won't rust or corrode and stay cool even in hot weather, says Kare & Co., N. Manchester, Ind.
The white plastic huts are molded from polyethylene with ultra violet inhibitors. They come in sections that measure 12 ft. wide, 6 ft. high, and 6 ft. deep and weigh 175 lbs. apiece. The front or back side of the hut (optional) has a hinged flap for ventilation.
"They won't crack or break under normal use and stay much cooler in the summer than metal huts," says Doug Dyson. "Three sections can be bolted together to makea 12 by 18-ft. shelter. You can use a tractor and chains to transport the huts by bolting your own skids onto the sides and mounting a pipe across the front."
Each section sells for $288. End sections sell for $124 apiece.
