Disc Levelers For Manure Injectors
"We're able to reduce nitrogen loss to an absolute minimum, eliminate odor, and cover furrows so the ground is perfectly level in the spring," says John Gallantine about his company's "disc leveler" kit for virtually any manure injection system on the market.
Campbell Mfg. Co.'s system was unveiled at the recent Iowa Power Farming Show in Des Moines, Iowa.
It consists of a 4 in. sq. U-shaped toolbar on back of a manure tank injector. There's one pair of spring-loaded 18 1/2-in. dia. closing disks per shank. Blade angle is adjustable out to 30 degrees and depth is adjustable down to 10 in.
Installation takes two men about an hour, Gallentine says.
Toolbars sell for $100 (3-row) and $125 (4-row). Closers sell for $255 per row, plus $25 per mounting bracket.
