FlashBake Oven Cooks At Speed Of Light
You can cook at the speed of light with this new oven that uses computer directed light to cook food. It works in a fraction of the time of microwave ovens.
For example, you can cook a pizza in 60 seconds, chicken or turkey breasts in 120 seconds and cakes, cookies and rolls in 240 seconds. Because it cooks so fast, energy use is reduced by as much as 80% and, unlike a microwave, the new "Flash Bake" browns food as it cooks using a combination of both visible and infrared light.
FlashBake ovens have been used in institutional settings such as pizzerias for a couple of years now and sell for about $5,000 apiece. A home model will be on the market in a year or two at a price of $1,000 to $2,000.
