New Coupler Makes Pto Hookups A Snap
Tired of wrestling with uncooperative pto's that don't want to hook up to the tractor pto? Worried about getting clothing caught in the knuckles of exposed pto shafts?
You can eliminate these problems and worries, and make pto coupling a "snap", with the new Snap-On pto coupler invented by F.B. Recker, of Dyersville, Iowa.
Recker's Snap-On coupler is completely automatic and never needs to be cocked open like sliding ring pto couplers. "You just push it on and pull it off," notes Recker. "With one hand, you can hook the pto to the tractor simply by pushing the Snap-On coupler over the tractor shaft. The forward guard automatically locks to the inner sleeve when it's pulled off the shaft and spins free when on so that matching up the splines is quick and easy.
"One of the biggest advantages for the Snap-On coupler is safety,"points out Recker. "There are no exposed knuckles to get wrapped up in. The U-joints are also covered by a free-spinning shield for added safety."
Snap-On coupler models are available for all makes of 6, 20 and 21 splined shafts. The coupler installs on most implements and self-unloading wagons at the front-most U-joint.
Recker is just beginning to manufacture the Snap-On coupler and hasn't yet established a retail price. He says he has initiated a non-exclusive contract with John Deere and is also looking for other manufacturers interested in using the coupler on their implements and wagons.
