Hedge Trimmer Modification
"My husband Damon says that anyone who tries this idea will never trim hedges again without it. Saves a lot of cleanup," says Pauline Pombo, Tracy, Calif., about a modification they made to their Weed Eater hedge trimmer.
They bolted a 12-in. wide aluminum sheet to the bottom side of the blade using the same bolt holes that hold the blades together. As the hedge is trimmed, clippings fall onto the aluminum sheet and Pombo flips them onto a large piece of plastic laid in front of the hedge.
