Hitch Stabilizer For Older IH Tractors
You can stop excessive 3-pt. hitch side sway on smaller and all older International tractors with the new Sammann Hitch Stabilizer (large current model International tractors don't need it).
The Sammann Stabilizer consists of a heavy bracket made of 1 in. steel plate that bolts to an existing casting on the tractor with six heavy bolts. Adjustable shims and cast steel sway blocks attach to hitch lift arms to control slack in either Category II or III hitches.
There is no interference with the tractor pto or any mounted implements, and it reportedly works equally well on tractors with standard 3-point hitch, or the International Fast-Hitch.
The Sammann Stabilizer is built for all 1000 series International tractors (excluding current 86 series tractors) and all 800 series and smaller models.
The regular International solid or telescoping drawbars can still be used, and holes are provided for pinning the drawbar in any of five lateral positions. If sway blocks become worn from heavy use, shims may be added, or the blocks removed and built up again with a welder.
Ernest Sammann, developer of the stabilizer, says the stabilizer provides greatly improved control of hitchmounted equipment by eliminating unwanted side sway during operation.
Exclusive U.S. distributors of the Sammann Stabilizer is George & Barnett, Inc., Tulia, Texas. Units can be ordered from that firm or their dealers. Suggested retail is $343.75, F.O.B. Tulia, Texas.
