Combine Forklift COMBINES Conversions 7-2-7 Max Louder, Boardman, Ore., adapted a hydraulic forklift to his International 1480 combine to get a second use out of the machine, which would otherwise sit idle most of the year.
"It will lift a conventional 24-ft. header and pickup reel to a height of about 11 ft. and can be tilted forward and backward while it's lifting, thanks to a diverter valve adapted to the combine's hydraulic system. The combine handles the 24-ft. table with no problem. However, for extra heavy loads around the farm, the base of the forklift can be rested on the ground to relieve the feederhouse of the strain," says Max.
