Handy Drum Opener
Now, thanks to the "Drum Deheader" from Weil, you can remove the end of oil and chemical drums almost as easily as opening a can of soup with a regular can opener.
Designed to open any size and gauge drum in minutes, the Deheader eliminates dangerous chiseling or cutting torches. Since it leaves a smooth edge on the drum, the drum can be recycled safely as a reusable, all-purpose container.
The Deheader uses a replaceable hardened steel blade to cut through the drum head. It's mounted on a 21-in. long handle for extra leverage. By placing the curved mounting flange on the drum edge and lifting up on the handle, the blade penetrates the drum head and cuts a 3-in. stroke along the edge. The process is repeated until the top is cut free. Sells for $57.15.
