"It lets you adapt bale size and density to whatever material you're baling and to the way you plan to feed the bales. If you're making hay bales to feed in a dairy barn, for example, you may want to make smaller bales for easier handling but then make full-size bales for feeding outside in big bale feeders," says a company representative. One belt in the bale chamber wraps tightly around the bale as it begins to form. Once the bale reaches the minimum 1 1/2 ft. dia. size, you can stop at any time and tie the bale.
