Cowslips Heal Lame Cows
Lame cattle with bad hooves heal faster and suffer less pain when you fit the healthy claw with an orthopedic "Cowslip", thus taking the weight off the damaged claw.
Made from hard-wearing recycled plastic, "Cowslips" fasten onto the claw with a fast curing adhesive (a premeasured pack-age of powder and liquid). The sole has a non-slip latticed tread about 5/8-in. thick, which is enough to lift the damaged claw off the ground and transfer the cow's weight onto the healthy claw. The shoe stays on for 3 to 5 week. It falls off when the natural oils of the hoof break the bond between the hoof and adhesive.
A box of 10 Cowslips, which were developed in Ireland, sells for $78.50.
