New Greeting Cards Say It With Seeds
"Lettuce Never Part", "Hope You Turnip Well", "Happy Birthday-You're Still In Mint Condition", and "Congratulations On Your New Little Sprout" are four of the sayings on a new series of greeting cards that come with a built-in packet of garden-ready seeds.
"It's not a gimmick," says Scott Alyn, inventor of Greeting Seeds, billed as "the first new idea in greeting cards to come along in years". The seeds are guaranteed to grow.
"We have all types of greetings, from birthdays to anniversaries to Mother's Day cards. Seeds range from garden vegetables to spices and flowers. We've found that most recipients of Greeting Seeds end up planting them," says Alyn.
Examples of other cards, each with a supply of seed to match the message, include, "You're The Greatest Mum in The World", "I'd Like To Hug You Till You're Squashed", "If We Cantaloupe, Let's Just Fool Around" and "Happy Birthday For Ears and Ears To Come".
Greeting Seeds sell for $1.35 each in "seed and feed" stores, or you can buy them by mail.
