Bolt-On Replacement For Narrow Front Axles
"Many of our customers don't feel safe using tractors with narrow front axles. They just don't have the stability of a wide front axle," says Wayne Powell, of Powell Implement Co. "Used wide front axles are either not available or too expensive. That's why we decided it was time to design and build a new wide front axle for older tractors."
Powell's wide front axle replaces narrow front axles purchased on many `30s, `40s and '50s vintage tractors.
Made of heavy-wall steel tubing, the Powell Safety Axle features heavy-duty tie rod ends. It uses Ford pickup kingpins and wheel bearings so parts are readily avail-able.
The Powell Safety Axle is currently available for Allis Chalmers B, C and CA models. Models for WC, WD and WD-45 Allis Chalmers tractors will soon be avail-able, with models for IH Farmall, Deere and Case models to follow.
Sells for $495.
