Low-Cost Deck Saver
"It only cost $4.75," says David Klaason, 12, inventor of this convenient, low-cost way to clean the underside of lawn mowers. David mounted a hose connection fitting on top of a mower deck. When he's finished mowing, he simply hooks a water hose to the connection to wash grass clippings and other debris from the underside of the deck with the blade turning. David's clever idea earned him and his invention special recognition at the 1993 Minnesota Inventors Congress in Redwood Falls.
