No Kickback Post Hole Digger
"Your wife can operate this one-person auger. It operates smooth as silk with no kickback or back strain," says the manufacturer of the new "Digga".
Powered by a 5-hp Kawasaki engine, it's available in auger sizes from 2 to 14 in. in dia., and digs holes up to 4-ft. deep with regular auger shafts (deeper with extension).
For digging close to walls and existing fence lines, the operator stands between the vertical auger and engine to operate the control clutch. Portable unit easily tows behind a car, pickup or tractor.
"If you strike a rock, the shock is absorbed by the clutch ù the kickback doesn't jar the operator, the manufacturer points out.
Retails for $1,295 (U.S.).
