Front Mounted Snow Blade
I can move a lot more snow with this front-mounted snow blade than with a rear-mounted blade. I built a front-mount for the 7-ft. blade that's braced at the front of the tractor and on both sides of the frame. The blade floats freely up and down supported by two brace arms. A chain runs from the back of the blade to a lever which is raised and lowered by a hydraulic cylinder. In the summer I use the blade to move gravel or dirt and it even works well to pile brush.
