Rustic Sheds Feature Pine Slab Siding
Elias Wolf from Mancelona, Mich., sent us some information about his rustic-looking sheds, which feature siding made from cut pine slabs.
“I got a bunch of slabs from my neighbor, who has a sawmill. The slabs made perfect siding for four of our sheds.
“I cut each slab to length, then set it on sawhorses to draw a line down one side using a straight edge. Next, I sawed off each side with a circular saw to make sure they were even and straight.
“Finally, I nailed the pine on top of the OSB on the outside walls. It gives the sheds a nice rustic look. The pine was easy to cut, and it protects the OSB,” says Wolf.
He plans to plant more trees on his available acres at home.
“It got me thinking about how many uses trees have besides just lumber. If you take good care of the trees, they’ll take good care of you,” says Wolf.
