Two-in-One Shovel Tackles Extremes
Shark Industries 2-in-1 Hammerhead snow shovels feature two fully functional blades: a traditional straight edge and a toothed blade, all in a single shovel. An innovative mechanism allows for quick and easy switching between blades by simply pulling a pin and rotating the handle.
“The Hammerhead is made from high-end polycarbonate that’s two times stronger and 20% thicker than traditional shovels,” says a company spokesperson. “The handles are made of a heavy-wall steel tube, 1.25 in outside diameter on our heavy-duty models and 1.15 in. on our standard-duty shovels.”
The tough-toothed blade handles all conditions from wet slush to crusted, hard-packed snow, while the straight blade clears lighter, fluffier material on stairs and sidewalks.
“Just pull the pin, flip the blade around, and reinstall it. It’s that simple.”
Since both sides of the shovel are made of plastic, the user encounters less friction on pavement compared to a metal-wear-strip shovel, making it easier to push. The toothed blade is designed for self-sharpening on concrete and pavement, maintaining the tool’s effectiveness.
The Hammerhead snow shovels come in 18 and 20-in. wide models and cost between $22 and $27, plus shipping, on the company’s website.
