THE FARM PASTURE GATE THAT BALKED! (It wouldn’t open) It was bitterly cold—after all, it was early winter. The farmer was surprised when the gate to the pasture didn’t open. He pressed the electric switch again. It made noise but no action. During the summer, several farmhands had been talking about the new electric gate opener for the pasture. “Just hit the switch, and the gate opens.” They appreciated the action all summer and fall when, time after time, they had to enter and leave the pasture…opening and closing the gate...just hit the switch. How well it worked! All of this convenience was driven by the new electric motor and the gearbox. Until…on this first frigid, cold and frosty winter day, it refused to open!  Then our farmer heater customer called us and described how he learned about our “Peel n Stick” Universal Preheaters from his neighbors; conversations had been buzzing at the local coffee shop, and his neighbor’s experiences and descriptions about the Universal Preheater prompted him to call and to place his order. Using a permanent adhesive, these “Peel n Stick” Preheaters mount to the outside of the appropriate metal tank/housing quickly and easily. Because heat rises, the bottom of the tank is the best location to mount it.  Our alternate mounting suggestion: If the mounting surface doesn’t provide a smooth, clear area to place the Preheater, an alternate way to mount is to shape a single thin plate of aluminum to fit the housing and provide the mounting method on the housing for the aluminum plate. Then, install the Peel N Stick Preheater on the aluminum plate according to instructions, install the assembly on the housing, and begin heating. We advised that he describe the fluid’s contents and quantity and the housing’s physical dimensions, including the type and thickness of the metal for the gate opener reservoir tank. We recommend the Preheater needed based on these specs and the voltage service available. He placed his order not long after that first call, and shipping followed.  He easily installed the new Preheater on the outside bottom of the housing using the Preheater instructions. He called us back and expressed his thanks and appreciation for the solution we provided. He described how each of his men warmly congratulated and thanked him because now the summer-like operation of the pasture gate continued even in the coldest weather. Push the gate switch, and the gate opens. That gate was no longer a problem. The “Peel n Stick” Universal Preheater permanently mounts on the gearbox housing’s outside bottom or side (below the level of the contents inside). It converts the housing’s metal into an actual heat transfer element.
