Proven Performance Supports Growth For Kondex’s KX7 Concaves
When Kondex began offering its KX7 concaves to the aftermarket in 2013, there were limited players for high-performance concaves in a market ripe for solutions to improving harvest results. Kondex concaves offer greater flexibility via a configurable system approach to combine threshing and separation. For most makes, KX7 is half the width of traditional concaves, with assemblies containing removable, replaceable box inserts to give farmers the greatest adaptability to configure their concaves to various crops and conditions.
“The success we’ve had is largely due to listening to what farmers needed and finding solutions to fill the gaps,” said Senior Application Engineer Andy Theisen. “Whether it’s a farmer with 1000 acres looking to lower rotor loss, seed grain growers who need the highest grain quality, or someone wanting greater capacity, we’ve been able to dial in these successes with our KX7 concaves. It’s incredibly gratifying to help farmers achieve their goals, especially with today’s high operational costs.”
Over the last 11 years, the success of Kondex concaves has enabled the company to expand its concave offering. They’ve gone from making concaves for a handful of combine makes to being a large player in the performance concave market.
“We now have KX7 concaves available for all the largest combine makes and models,” added Theisen. “Our newest releases include KX7 for John Deere X9 models and New Holland CR machines. But we continue to develop additional solutions in the product line to ensure the best harvest performance available.”
While the company did not reveal what new designs are in the works, they did talk about additional box insert options for specialized crops and conditions.
“For most crops, the standard configuration recommendations found on our website will deliver fantastic results, but in working with our distributors around the world, we’ve developed some specialty box inserts that dial in performance for less common crops or unique conditions in select geographies,” noted Theisen. “This goes back to our philosophy of balancing threshing and separating, and since not all crops are equal, the adjustments must be made at the concave.”
Additional inserts include KX7 box options with smaller or no openings, smaller separation bars, and a grated box design. Kondex has also incorporated its laser cladding wear protection additive into select concave frames and inserts for highly abrasive regions or crops.
