According to Burgei, worn parallel linkage arms and bushings are a common problem with today’s planters. Since the implementation of down-pressure-enhancing products, this problem has only gotten worse. “In the past, worn parallel linkage arms and bushings have always had to be replaced with new and expensive ones,” says Burgei. “With our kits, there’s no longer any wear on the parallel arms. All of the wear is on the kit’s replaceable parts.”
PPS Premium Complete Parallel Arm Kits come with upper and lower parallel arms with pre-installed hardened flange bushings, according to Burgei. PPS arms are laser cut, robotically welded, and built in Missouri. Internal pivot bushings thread onto the bolts, locking them into place eliminating the “slop” associated with standard OEM bushings. These hex-headed bushings are also hardened to increase wearability. “These kits feature robust welded steel arms, designed to handle excessive down pressures and adverse planting conditions. The premium complete kits are the best option for optimal planter repair,” Burgei said.
“The PPS Rebuild-Your-Existing-Parallel-Arm Kits are an excellent option for reduced costs to make current parallel linkage arms better than new. The installer reams out the worn holes in their existing arms a little larger for a more precise fit for the bushings.” Shouldered bolts are included for optimal fit in worn support plate and row unit holes. PPS rebuild kits are available for Case-IH, John Deere, Kinze, New Holland, Precision Planting and White/Massey Ferguson planters.
