Handy New Lifts For Down Livestock-Sling Lift Fits Stanchions
The just-introduced Miller Cow Mobile wheels into stanchions as well as open areas to pick up down animals and transport them to other areas.
It's equipped with a 2 ft. wide, 5 ft. long, nylon/polyester webbing, strong enough to handle a 2,000 lb. cow.
To lift an animal, you first pull a 3 in. wide, 6 ft. long, strap under the cow's brisket, behind the front legs. Attach each end of the strap to a "come along" and raise the animal just high enough so the sling can be slid underneath the animal. Next, attach the corner of the sling to the four "come alongs" and raise the animal. Another strap is provided to place around the animal's back haunches for added support.
The Miller Cow Mobile fits in stanchions 42 in. wide. It's 6 ft. 6 in. high and 6 ft. Iong. Sells for $760,which includes the webbing, slings and "come alongs".
