This hitch is very effective at dampening out vertical impacts. At Shockerhitch we developed an air hitch that fits into the front of equipment trailers. The call at first was for the construction and landscaping industries. These companies typically use dump trucks for hauling their skidsteer and equipment trailers.
The stiff ride from these trucks is very destructive, often times breaking the tongue right off the trailer or causing heavy damage. Imagine a dump truck towing a skidsteer trailer, very brutal.
In the last few years we have seen a growing need for farm use. First a customer used one for a land roller, then came a sprayer, and next with a fertilizer spreader. One farm operation in California uses it for pulling harvest trailers through their orchards during harvest to protect the fruit from bruising. Some farm equipment dealer uses it for delivering farm equipment to their customers. The point here is that there are many uses for this hitch.
We have a number of adapters for this product to fit many applications. Hitch adapters include 2 5/16-in. ball coupler, pintle ring, or drawbar clevis. We also have custom adapter to mate the hitch to farm machinery. This is a heavy-duty hitch that can handle loads up to 20,000lbs.
