Pasture Parlors Travel To The Cows DAIRY EQUIPMENT & IDEAS Milking parlors from Lithuania-based Mototecha are designed to go where the cows are The mobile parlors are catching on from Europe to the Mideast Now they are also available from the company’s North American division Motech US “We have sold more than 500 so far with the most going to Spain Denmark and Sweden ” says Sigitas Unguraitis “We are just introducing the mobile systems here with one already placed in Massachusetts and another going to Wisconsin ” First introduced in Lithuania in 2004 the system follows the cows where they graze with the goal of producing high-quality milk in a fully hygienic cow-friendly and safe manner While designed for use in pastures the company suggests they also can be placed inside a building Systems are available for herds from 20 head or less to 200 head Systems to be sold here will be assembled at the company’s Lombard Ill headquarters They consist of 2 units the milking trailer with parallel stalls gates milkers and a washing system and the support trailer The milking unit has galvanized roofing flooring and vacuum pipe LED lighting hydraulic lift and lower chassis and feed stations All gates are controlled from inside “It can be very simple with 2 stalls and cans for the milk ” says Unguraitis “A more sophisticated version can have as many as 12 milking units with a washing system and a support trailer with hot and cold water a milk cooler wastewater tank and a pto generator The roof of the support trailer can even have solar panels ” Unguraitis says the system can be customized to the buyer’s needs including adding elements from major dairy equipment manufacturers The price can run from $10 000 to $80 000 depending on features and state requirements “Each state has different rules and we will work with state milk inspectors to meet the requirements of the state ” says Unguraitis Contact: FARM SHOW Followup Motech US 356 W Madison St Lombard Ill 60148 ph 630 935-9395; sales@motechus com; www motechus com
