Walder Mfg.: “Crush And Roast” Beans For Profit
Over a 16 year period, Walder Mfg has been very successful in marketing oil screw
presses for farmers, commercial markets and food grade facilities, selling presses in the U.S., Canada, and in Nigeria, Africa. “There is always a formula to make money either with oil or meal and sometimes both”, states Mark Walder. “Do you think ADM or Cargill will process beans at a loss?” Walder Mfg. has good reasons they are still in business after all this time.
Walder Mfg. re-machines every press to specs to insure longevity (8000 to 12000 hrs.) and high oil yields. The presses are reasonably priced, and work hard, with longevity for the customer, therefore, making their pay back on their investment fairly quick. “We have a solid reputation and knowledge of the presses, we are readily available for trouble shooting and carry all parts on hand.”
The number one seller is the soybean double press unit that produces a gallon of oil per bushel with 49 percent by-pass protein, Walder said, “Tests are measured on success in the dairy industry by butter fat, which increases from 3.7 to 4.2 percent and slight increase in milk over chemical treated meal. Beef farmers see a higher rate of gain on pressed meal too because the pressed meal has more energy.”
Walder Mfg continues to expand into new markets; the Non-GMO and organic farmers who want a total processing system on their farm and have a commercial grade
product to use or sell. A new design on a roaster made this possible.
“Over the last 16 years and over 20 tries we finally developed a roaster that is LP fired and efficient.” We kept safety in mind and developed a revolutionary design that is like a frying pan and an oven combined together that roasts meal uniformly.” The roaster can roast raw soybeans, canola or any other product that can be roasted.
Walder Mfg. has experience in crushing Sunflower, flax, canola, camelina, mustard,
soybeans, milk thistle, cotton seed and pecans. Walder Mfg. sells 6 ton presses starting at $6000.00 and 20 ton presses starting at $19700.00 which can produce 864 gallons of oil in 24 hours. The new roaster sells for $15000.00 and will keep up to a double six ton press unit.
Walder Mfg. makes bio diesel with their oil and have burned over 21000 gallons on their farm in the last 4 years even in new engines.
