Here’s a simple handrail for a 2 by 4 stairway railing. It fits over another 2 by 4 set on edge. Just cut a dado that’s sized to fit over the side of the 2 by 4 and then bevel the top edges. Gives a finished look to the railing and a better grip. (Dillon Phillips, Indianola, Iowa)
